POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and commercially astute leader to join the Regional Leadership Team as Director, Regional Strategy & Business Development, reporting to the Regional General Manager / (Senior) Vice President with a dotted line to the SVP, Corporate Development & Strategy.
This is a high‑visibility role with frequent engagement across regional and global leadership, business units, and cross‑functional teams. The role serves as the architect and steward of the regional growth strategy, shaping regional priorities, enabling superior go‑to‑market execution, and selectively driving region‑focused business development initiatives, including partnerships, M&A evaluation, and portfolio optimization.
The successful candidate will develop proprietary market and competitive insights to inform strategic choices, translate strategy into clear execution roadmaps, and establish performance tracking mechanisms to measure impact. Close collaboration with global Corporate Strategy, Divisional, and Business Unit leaders is essential to ensure strong alignment between regional and global priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development and execution of the regional growth strategy, aligned with global corporate and divisional priorities.
Generate deep market, customer, and competitive insights to inform strategic decision‑making and commercial investments.
Translate strategic priorities into clear execution plans, milestones, and performance tracking frameworks.
Partner with commercial, marketing, finance and operations teams to optimize go‑to‑market, channel, and distributor strategies.
Lead regional M&A projects, from target identification through post-transaction integration processes, with a positive, lasting outcome and measurable results.
Collaborate closely with Corporate Development on M&A pipeline development, strategic rationale, and integration planning, as applicable.
Ensure strong alignment and coordination between regional strategy and global corporate/divisional strategies.
Build and sustain productive relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent); MBA strongly preferred.
10+ years of relevant strategic and commercial experience
Experience in top‑tier management consulting and/or corporate strategy roles.
Strong business acumen with demonstrated capabilities in strategy formulation, financial analysis, and execution planning.
Proven ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively with senior executives and key stakeholders in complex organizations.
Preferred
Deep regional market and cultural familiarity, including experience operating across multiple countries.
Significant experience within the life sciences industry
Demonstrated M&A, partnership, or corporate development experience.
Experience working effectively within global, matrixed organizations.

Working Conditions:
Role can be based remotely within the Region, preferably close to one of our regional sites
Willingness to travel internationally as required, with ~25% regional travel expected
Flexibility to support cross‑regional collaboration across time zones.
Potential need for short‑term international assignments, subject to business needs.
